Left Wing Extremism (LWE)
The scheme aims to address the pressing issue of Left-Wing Extremism (LWE) in nine Indian states: Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. These regions have been heavily impacted by LWE due to a combination of factors, including poor governance, lack of basic amenities, and limited opportunities for youth.
The absence of adequate infrastructure for skill development and employment has contributed significantly to the spread of extremism. Many LWE-affected areas lack essential services such as water, electricity, healthcare, education, and transportation. This deprivation has fueled disillusionment and frustration among local populations, making them vulnerable to extremist ideologies.
By providing targeted skill development and employment opportunities, the scheme seeks to address the root causes of LWE. By empowering youth with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed, the initiative aims to create a more equitable and prosperous future for these marginalized regions.
