Apprenticeship Training Scheme(ATS)

The primary aim of this scheme is to offer jobseekers and semi-skilled graduates from Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and Private Industrial Training Institutes (PITIs) the opportunity to gain practical, on-the-job training as apprentices within industrial settings. These settings encompass both production and service-based activities.

Candidates who have successfully completed their ITI programs and participate in the Apprenticeship Training Scheme (ATS) can benefit from a reduction in their apprenticeship training period, based on the alignment between their ITI trade and the specific apprenticeship trade they choose. This rebate acknowledges and leverages the skills and knowledge acquired during their ITI training.

The expected outcome of the Apprenticeship Training Scheme is to develop highly skilled workers who are well-prepared to meet the demands of the industry. By integrating theoretical learning with practical experience, the scheme ensures that apprentices gain valuable hands-on skills that enhance their employability and professional competence.

The implementation of the Apprenticeship Training Scheme is overseen by three Assistant Director offices, each situated in different zones across the state. These offices play a crucial role in supporting, coordinating, and regulating apprenticeship programs across both public and private sector industries. Their responsibilities include:

Through these efforts, the Assistant Director offices help to maintain the high standards of the Apprenticeship Training Scheme and contribute to the development of a skilled workforce that meets the evolving needs of the industrial sector.
